One of the fast-growing occupations in the healthcare field is that of an athletic trainer. Another top school for this degree is California State University Long Beach. Its yearly in-state cost for its bachelor of science in athletic training and exercise science degree is $19,380 while for out-of-state students, the cost $30,540. One of the more popular schools offering the athletic training degree is Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. The in-state total cost is $20,120 a year while the out-of-state cost is $23,432.
As far as private institutions are concerned, one of the top schools for athletic training is Ithaca College in New York. The total yearly cost there is $53,758. At Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, the total yearly cost is $49,769. At Duquesne University in Pennsylvania, the total cost is $43,017 a year. Total yearly cost at Whitworth University in Washington is $46,513.
The figures cited above included tuition and fees, room and board and books and supplies. It does not yet include the personal expenses that a student could incur while working towards this degree. This can range anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 a year depending on the things that the student spends for. There are also transportation expenses that need to be figured into the equation, especially if the student needs to travel to and from school.
Keep in mind that you can significantly lower the cost of your athletic training degree by applying for financial aid. You can check for scholarship and grant opportunities in your school or consider applying for federal student loans. If you’re lucky, your parents may have set aside a college savings plan for you which can greatly defray the cost of your athletic training degree.
